"Palm Tree"

The following 3 pictures come courtesy of Carmin Industries .  This gigantic metal part is part of the trunk of a palm tree.

Here is what Carolyn Minerich of Carmin Industries had to say about this project:

"Our palm tree project was first waterjet cut from 30 pieces of  1/8'' x 5' x 10' aluminum (3003 Alloy).  We waterjet cut the chevron patterns.  The pieces were then roll formed and welded to circular support rings that were also waterjet cut.  This was an excellent application for our 8' x 12' table!  We thought the most difficult part was roll forming ... until we got to the welded sections! It was like a puzzle ... that gratefully went together very smoothly."

Thank you Carolyn for these pictures.  If you have pictures you would like to share, send them by with a short description of what it is, what it is made of, and any special or interesting notes on how it was made.
